The General Authority of the Suez Canal announced the arrival of the dredger “Hussain Tantawi”, carried on the diving ship “Tai An Kou”, in preparation for joining the authority’s fleet in preparation for the flag-raising ceremony.
Lieutenant-General Osama Rabie, head of the Suez Canal Authority, said that the new dredger “Hussein Tantawi”, the latest and largest in the Middle East, arrived at dawn today, Tuesday, the Suez Canal, on board the diving vessel “Tai An Kou”, coming from the port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands, heading to the waiting area in the lakes. To take the necessary measures to float the dredger and separate it from the ship, in preparation for its joining the Authority’s dredger fleet in preparation for a major celebration to hold the ceremony of raising the Egyptian flag on it.
The dredger “Hussain Tantawi” has advanced specifications, with a total length of 147.4 meters, a width of 23 meters, a draft of 5.5 meters, and a productivity of 3,600 cubic meters of sand / hour along a floating ejection line of 4 km, and a total capacity of 29,190 kilowatts, with The ability to deal with all types of soil, including rocky ones, and it will participate in the completion of the project of duplication, expansion and deepening of the navigation course once the receiving trials from the Dutch side are completed.
