In a quick practical response to President Sisi’s call for political dialogue, the “Mustaqbal Watan” party, which has a parliamentary majority in Parliament, called on its deputies to work on implementing the president’s decisions and working on them.
In a statement, the party affirmed that it will continue to assume its responsibilities through its members in the two chambers of Parliament (Representatives and Senate) and its formations in the governorates, in implementing these decisions and working on them as a real step in building the new republic.
He stressed harnessing all his capabilities to contribute to activating the president’s decisions and cooperating with all official institutions, political parties and civil society organizations to achieve the vision of the political leadership, which aims to consolidate social stability and build the Egyptian person.
The head of the Wafd Party, Abdel Sanad Yamama, also announced that the party would present a working paper on the future of youth political work, especially since youth are the mainstay of any political movement in Egypt.
He pointed out that Egypt at the present time needs the various shades and currents of political action for the benefit of the country and the citizen.
The party welcomes the reactivation of the work of the presidential pardon committee that was formed as one of the outcomes of the National Youth Congress, and the expansion of the committee’s work base in cooperation with the competent agencies and civil society organizations.
Urgent need for dialogue
Mahmoud Sami, head of the Parliamentary Committee of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party, classified as one of the opposition parties, praised in an interview with “Sky News Arabia” the introduction of the political dialogue initiative.
He asserts: “There is an urgent need in the current period, and in light of the many challenges, to conduct such a national dialogue with all national political forces without discrimination or exception, saying:” The participation of the real opposition is required in light of the difficult economic situation linked to global changes.”
Sami says that “the initiative is a great opportunity for the parties, and the beginning of a great democratic and political breakthrough.”
He explains: “The initiative for political dialogue, and the remarkable presence of opposition figures in Tuesday’s ceremony, is an opening for the window of politics, and a step on the path to political reform in the country.”
He points out that the Egyptian Social Democratic Party was one of the first parties to call for such a political dialogue, indicating at the same time the party’s readiness for this dialogue.
