“Russia is working with China to strengthen trade cooperation, cooperation in the field of human rights and address climate change,” Putin said, when answering a reporter’s question about cooperation with China.
“China has one of the most technologically advanced armies, and we are working with them to develop high-precision weapons,” he added.
The Russian president indicated that he has a trusting relationship with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, noting that this would help build “successful practical relations.”
Putin’s speech comes as his country faces accusations of preparing to launch a military attack on Ukraine, which Moscow denies.
The Russian president has repeatedly stressed that he does not want a “conflict” in Ukraine, but demands security guarantees in hot spots.
