This year cartoon Network celebrates the thirtieth anniversary of the first time it came to our televisions. Over the years it has produced and broadcast a huge number of animated series. With some that were forgotten and many more that won the hearts of fans.
To celebrate this anniversary, we decided to make a Top 5 of the best Cartoon Network series and its studios. All this based on the opinions of specialized critics. So don’t go against us if your favorite isn’t around here.
Number 5. Steven Universe, one of the latest Cartoon Network series is also one of its best
We start this count with one of the most recent Cartoon Network productions: Steven Universe. The successful creation of animator Rebecca Sugar. It currently has a rating of 8.2 on the IMDB site.. Here the critics have opined that it is an excellent series, not only for the little ones, but also for a more mature audience.
This is mainly because of the topics it touches on. Since its episodes revolve around love, family and how to have healthy relationships with other people. She has also been widely applauded for her inclusion of LGBTQ themes. Although it is not the best production of Cartoon Network, it is one of the most outstanding of this company. So you might want to give it a try if you haven’t already.
Number 4. The Amazing World of Gumball
We continue with another recent Cartoon Network series: The incredible world of Gumball. Which has a rating of 8.3 on IMDB. So he just beat Steven Universe by a hair. What critics love most about this series is how chaotic it can be. From the stories it touches, to the very animation of the main characters, who have very different designs. Not to mention that it is quite funny.
Again, despite being considered for children, it manages to play some more mature themes. Like discrimination, mental illness and cyber bullying. In his broadcast he managed to gain a huge number of followers. Upon reaching its end it was announced that there would be a movie inspired by it. Unfortunately this will no longer be done due to the recent spate of HBO Max cancellations.
Number 3. One more show… added to the best of Cartoon Network
Now we go a little further into the past in this count with One more show. This Cartoon Network animated series has an 8.5 rating on IMDB. Like gumball, One more show he captivated critics with his irreverent stories. Many comments about it agree that it is one of the funniest series today.
Its characters and dialogues were the recipients of more compliments throughout its broadcast. It has even been compared to much-loved shows like Dexter’s lab, Johnny Bravo Y The Powerpuff Girls. Maybe it doesn’t touch on mature themes like other series on that list. But it’s definitely a great option if you just want to laugh out loud. Not for nothing do we see so many memes taken from their scenes.
Number 2. Adventure Time
The next post, with a rating of 8.6 on IMDB is Adventure Time. Which is perhaps the best known series of the modern Cartoon Network. The adventures of Jake the dog and Finn the human achieved constant acclaim throughout its ten seasons. Which launched a whole series of alternative media, such as video games and comics.
This series achieved the perfect balance between pure comedy and deep themes. Not to mention, it is widely applauded for not relying on popular culture references like other shows. Even its fantasy world and background have earned it rave comparisons. Some critics relate it to the sentiments conveyed by the Studio Ghibli films and the Final Fantasy video games. Surely you already wanted to see it.
Number 1. Primal is the best Cartoon Network series so far.
Primal is the only Cartoon Network series made for adults on this list. But he more than earns his place. Not for nothing does it have an 8.7 rating on IMDB. Of course, being for adults, it can touch on much more complex issues. Not to mention that it gives us very good action scenes, very well animated, but also quite bloody.
Perhaps the most applaudable Primal It’s all he accomplishes with so little. Since it is a practically silent show, but you manage to understand everything that is going through the minds of the characters. Being a relatively short series, we see no reason why you shouldn’t check it out. Currently its 20 episodes of 20 minutes are available on HBO Max. We assure you that you will not regret seeing it.
We know you may have been expecting some of the classic series here. But still, we think this selection shows that Cartoon Network has gotten more complex over the years. Of course we do not demerit the work of great series such as Dexter’s Laboratory, Courage or The Cow and the Chicken. So maybe soon we will have a top with the best of the classics.
Do you agree with our top? Do you think there is another series that deserved a place here? Tell us in the comments!
