The Government of Chubut will raffle off whale watching and ski passes at the La Hoya mountain activities center for those who are vaccinated against the coronavirus.
“It is a decision made and we will meet with the providers who have already accepted to see how we will do the draws,” said Health Minister Fabián Puratich.
In this way, an attempt is made to encourage people to attend vaccinations since the presence of people with or without shifts has been diminished in recent times for different reasons.
However, Puratich said that a good percentage of inoculated people has already been reached: “We hit 60 percent, at least with one dose. At this rate we believe that in September almost the entire population of the province will be vaccinated, “he said.
As in most of the country, the great deficit in Chubut is the second dose of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine. The scheme has just been completed for people who were vaccinated in March. And it will begin with those of April in the next few days.

The idea of rewarding those who get vaccinated had already been advanced by the authorities last week. But they had not reported on what type of award those who decide to get the vaccines would receive.
“We think about healthy issues, which above all have to do with tourism,” had advanced the head of Health.
The Southern Right whale watching season in Pirámides and Puerto Madryn is in full swing and was reactivated with a strict protocol after the 2020 season did not take place. And in La Hoya there is also full activity, although with one drawback: the lack of snow.
The center is located 14 kilometers from Esquel, where it has practically not snowed so far this winter.
In any case, the ascent to the hill was enabled where people go for walks and some dare to ski baptisms on the beginners track, although with little amount of snow. Excursions in La Trochita, the narrow gauge train that also has its activity center in Esquel is another possibility to reward those who get vaccinated.
In addition, and to activate the vaccination of the population, the Government launched the plan called “The vaccine in your neighborhood”For which the health agents go house to house through the different neighborhood sectors of the province offering vaccines.
“The resistance exists especially in the youngest and some people with different religious beliefs and of another type. But we are slowly getting closer to the ideal of vaccination. With these awards we are going to try to encourage people and thus achieve herd immunity as soon as possible ”, added Puratich.
Similar strategies had already been implemented in Comodoro Rivadavia. Some bars offered free beer or lemonade for those who present the vaccination certificate..
