Izvestia: Russian publishers extended the rights to books about Winnie the Pooh and Mary Poppins
Russian publishing houses were able to extend the rights to publish Western books and renew relations with foreign authors who stopped working with Russia last year. About it report “News”.
“During long and difficult negotiations, we managed to retain the rights to publish the works of Pamela Travers (books about Mary Poppins) and Gerald Durrell (“Talking Package”, “My Family and Other Animals”, “All About the Baby”),” shared in press service of the Rosman publishing house, adding that they also managed to reach an agreement with the copyright holders for the works of Alan Milne, who gave the world books about Winnie the Pooh.
The publishing house noted that the situation is gradually starting to improve, as evidenced by the decision of a number of foreign publishers to reconsider their position and negotiate with Russian colleagues.
The opinion of “Rosman” was also shared by the general director of the publishing house “Eksmo” Yevgeny Kapyev, citing as an example cooperation with the author James Rollins. “After a pause, he decided to return to cooperation with our publishing house and resume the release of his books in Russia,” Kapiev said.
Earlier it became known that the films of the American film studio Disney will be inaccessible to users of Russian online cinemas. In particular, the Russians will not be able to watch film adaptations of Marvel comics, Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean.
