1.- Defend national sovereignty in an international scenario plagued by the winds of war and direct and indirect interventionism, especially from the United States, which wants to place American soldiers or offensive missiles in areas allegedly controlled by drug trafficking cartels within Mexico.
2.- The care of internal security as the function of the State to participate in activities that guarantee sovereignty and rights in institutional and territorial areas that appear as targets of capture by organized crime. The Armed Forces have strengthened the internal security structure against criminal groups that have high economic, firearms and criminal capacity and that have subjected territorial areas of State sovereignty to their criminal interests.
3.- The participation of the Armed Forces in social development and in activities that have to do with guaranteeing the well-being of Mexicans in remote areas of the Republic or far from the interests of commercial companies and in infrastructure construction activities.
4.- Contributing to the development of Mexico is one of the functions and missions of the Armed Forces that appears in its organic documents and that allows the use of the capacity of the Army and the Navy in the construction and maintenance of the infrastructure that naturally the private sector disdains due to low business profit.
5.- The fundamental role, recognized in the world, of the participation of the Armed Forces in relief work for the civilian population in cases of disaster, such as the DN-III Plan that has already been taken by other armies in the world to give practical and social functionality to the organizational capacity of the Armed Forces.
