Vittorio Boiocchi, historical face of the hard core of the Italian football club Inter, was shot dead in the street on Saturday evening. He was hit by several bullets at close range in front of his home in Milan.
Around eight o’clock on Saturday evening, Boiocchi was attacked by unknown gunmen in front of his home in Milan. At least three bullets were fired, according to eyewitnesses, and Boiocchi was hit in the chest and neck. On the way to the hospital, 70-year-old Boiocchi died.
Vittorio Boiocchi was the historic leader of the Curva Nord at the San Siro stadium in Milan, Inter’s hard core. He was no stranger to the police, in total he spent more than 26 years in prison for extortion, drug trafficking and armed robbery. Last year, Boiocchi was arrested in the center of Milan, he was in a stolen car and had a firearm in his possession.
During the attack on Saturday evening, Inter played against Sampdoria in their own San Siro stadium. When the news became known, it became quiet in the Curva Nord. All banners were removed and the current leaders of the hard core were no longer allowed to sing in the stadium.
Milan police have launched an investigation into the motive for the attack.
