Western Uusimaa has the highest number of deficiencies in rescue operations nationwide, says the Regional Administrative Office of Southern Finland.

On Thursday, the agency ordered the welfare area to correct the operational readiness times of rescue operations to the level required by law. Avi announced the matter on Monday.
The first one the rescue unit should reach the scene in the most densely populated and built-up areas within six minutes in at least half of the tasks.
In the welfare area of Western Uusimaa, there are fourteen areas with a size of one square kilometer, where the operational readiness goals of the first unit are currently not being realized as required by law.
The most problematic areas are Espoo's Otaniemi, Matinkylä and the center of Espoo and Lohja. In addition, there are problems in Espoo's Saunalahti and Jupperi, Kirkkonummi Masala and Kauniainen area.
According to avi, there have been deficiencies in the operational readiness times of rescue operations for a long time.
Otaniemi avi ordered that the area's problems be fixed by the end of 2025. In other areas, the welfare area can itself decide on the order of remedial measures.
According to Avi, in western Uusimaa and especially in the Espoo region, there are the most shortcomings in the operational readiness times of rescue operations nationwide.
