Team principal Vincent Vosse reiterated that he will field two cars in the series next year, as he prepares to move up to the Hypercar class with the BMW M Hybrid V8 in 2024.
“We will be racing with two cars in LMP2 – this is today’s plan and so it should be,” Vosse told Motorsport.com
“We will start testing next year with BMW and we will have a nice program in Europe together with IMSA in America, managed by Team RLL”.
Vosse did not want to reveal when the WRT will receive its first V8 M Hybrid, developed in collaboration with Dallara, nor the details of the test program.
“We are setting up a complete BMW program in LMDh, so it is up to BMW to announce it. We will have the opportunity to test the car regardless of the season with the Orecas and as a team we are already able to handle testing with BMW more effectively.”
“As an organization we are already more than 100 people, but obviously we will need more staff to manage the LMDh in 2024”.
“The plan is for everyone to come together for the final two rounds of the WEC in 2023, so the team we manage in those races will be the team that follows BMWs in 2024.”

Vosse added that it is still too early to talk about drivers for next year’s LMP2 program, but it seems likely that René Rast will remain on the team following the announcement that he will leave Audi to join BMW for 2023.
For this season, the team has an agreement with RealTeam for one of the two Orecas, while next year’s GT3 plans are still in progress, following the announcement of the separation from Audi.
“The intention of the team is to stay in GT3, where we have had great success since the establishment of WRT in 2010”.
One can think that WRT will race the new BMW M4 GT3 for 2023 on a schedule in the GT World Challenge Europe.
Confirmation of this may come later as BMW traditionally announces its partner teams and related GT3 programs at the annual awards ceremony in December.
