The FIA World Endurance Championship Prologue has officially been moved two days from the original schedule scheduled in Qatar.
The collective tests of the series were supposed to begin on Saturday, but delays in the shipment of the material of some teams had an impact on the preparation, so the FIA and ACO opted to postpone the start of the tests to the beginning of next week , then Monday and Tuesday.
As anticipated, everything was triggered by the geopolitical turmoil which for a couple of months now has been putting a strain on sea transport crossing the Suez Canal.
The 24h of Dubai had been delayed for this very reason, as were the World Superbike tests, and the WEC also found itself in difficulty crossing the Red Sea, therefore having to turn towards Jeddah and continue by truck towards Doha, in a journey of at least 15 hours.
Some teams were already present on the Lusail track having carried out private tests on the same track or on nearby circuits such as Dubai in recent weeks, although the majority of the LMGT3 Class cars, related spare parts and materials to set up the pits have yet to be completed. arrive.
It was therefore decided to leave Saturday and Sunday free in order to allow the competitors to finish their preparations, and then take to the track on Sunday afternoon for a single test session in the following days.

The Prologue will act as an appetizer to the 1812 Km of Qatar which – barring unforeseen events and further changes to the program – will be held on 2 March, with testing starting on Thursday 29 February and Qualifying on Friday.
