Lamborghini Squadra Corse is ready to return to action with the SC63 LMDh prototype this weekend, on the occasion of the third round of the FIA World Endurance Championship hosted on the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit, in Belgium.
Team Lamborghini Iron Lynx offers a renewed line-up of drivers for car number 63. Andrea Caldarelli – Lamborghini Factory Driver and involved in the GTP category of the IMSA SportsCar Championship – joins Mirko Bortolotti and Daniil Kvyat at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, replacing Edoardo Mortara, thanks to a concurrent round of the FIA Formula E World Championship.
The Italian team is preparing to face the Belgian commitment thanks to the performances achieved last month in Imola, where the SC63 did not encounter, once again, any technical problems and, compared to the opening stage in Qatar, improved its pace in the race. The fastest lap of the number 63, recorded by Bortolotti, was just under half a second faster than the race winners.
As with previous events, the main objective of Lamborghini Squadra Corse in Belgium is to clock up further kilometers and increase its experience in one of the most selective and prestigious championships in the world. Reliability remains a fundamental point for the engineers and mechanics of the Lamborghini Iron Lynx Team, to which is added particular attention to improving general performance.
The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps also represents a crucial test for Lamborghini Squadra Corse, ahead of its eagerly awaited debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June. The third round of the World Endurance Championship is, therefore, the last big test before the famous French race.

“Spa-Francorchamps is a legendary circuit, but also very treacherous from many points of view. Coming from a positive start to the season, we are aware of the challenges that await us this weekend and we look forward to continuing the work done until this point,” says Emmanuel Esnault, Iron Lynx Director of Track Operations.
“The race is part of the key preparation phase for Le Mans and it will be useful to have a good performance at Spa to gain further motivation and momentum, as well as having Andrea with us ahead of the two-car commitment in June.”
In LMGT3, the crew of the #85 Iron Dames Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 also gets a change, with Rahel Frey back alongside Michelle Gatting and Sarah Bovy. Instead, the cockpit of Iron Lynx number 60 still sees Franck Perera, Matteo Cressoni and Claudio Schiavoni at the wheel.
7,004 meters long, the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is considered one of the most challenging tracks on the calendar and is a perfect mix of fast and technical sections. The most iconic points of this facility are La Source, the Eau Rouge-Raidillon curve sequence, the long Kemmel straight, Les Combes, Blanchimont and the former Bus Stop. Overtaking opportunities are not rare and traffic is an important element for the final outcome of the race, especially in the second sector.
