For the first time this season, the Lamborghini Iron Lynx Team races within the “home” walls with the SC63 prototype, on the occasion of the second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy, this weekend.
For Lamborghini Iron Lynx, Imola represents a special appointment: in fact, in August last year, the SC63 carried out its first official test session on the Italian circuit. The crew chosen for the home race is made up of Mirko Bortolotti, Edoardo Mortara and Daniil Kvyat.
Up to Imola, the Lamborghini SC63 took part in two races: at the 1812 km of Qatar, the opening stage of the World Endurance Championship, the car reached the final finish line brilliantly, demonstrating notable reliability despite the high temperatures recorded in Lusail; at the 12 Hours of Sebring valid for the IMSA SportsCar Championship, he achieved a positive seventh place, ahead of more experienced rivals and expressing an excellent pace on a particularly difficult circuit.
There will also be two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 at the starting line in the LMGT3 category. Claudio Schiavoni, Franck Perera and Matteo Cressoni will once again be at the wheel of the number 60 Iron Lynx, while Michelle Gatting, Sarah Bovy and Doriane Pin will take turns driving the number 85 Iron Dames.
The Imola track, 4,909 meters long and made up of 20 corners, is particularly technical and offers few overtaking opportunities. Traffic will certainly play a decisive role in the outcome of the race, also due to the small track size.

The Imola weekend will also host the first round of the sixteenth edition of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, for the first time alongside a stage of the FIA WEC.
The Lamborghini Squadra Corse single-make series will have over fifty cars on the grid, ready to face the two 50-minute races scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
“For a team, racing so close to home is always special, and it is also advantageous from an operational point of view with such a new program. Furthermore, Imola has an exceptional history and character, it is an extremely fascinating place”, explains the Manager of track, Emmanuel Esnault.
“As far as racing is concerned, we had positive experiences in Qatar and Sebring, but there is still a lot to do and improve. We look forward to seeing further progress and continuing the path started with Mirko, Daniil and Edoardo” .
