Jota and WTR appear certain to move from Porsche and Acura respectively to replace Chip Ganassi Racing in the General Motors brand’s team roster. Motorsport.com has learned that each has an agreement to run two LMD V-Series.R in 2025, Jota in the WEC and WTR in the North American series.
Plans for 2025 have not been confirmed by either team or Cadillac, but contracts are believed to have at least been agreed upon, if not signed.
Laura Wontrop Klauser, who heads GM’s sportscar programs, declined to talk about her plans for next year in the wake of CGR’s announcement in March that it would split from Cadillac after four seasons after this one.
“We don’t have a set timeline for an announcement, right now it’s TBD for both programs,” he said.
A new regulation revealed exclusively by Motorsport.com in March, which requires each manufacturer entering the WEC’s Hypercar class to race two cars, means that Cadillac will have to expand its program for 2025.

Ganassi represents the brand in the WEC as Cadillac Racing from 2023 with a single V-Series.R.
Klauser explained: “Cadillac will react to the regulations as they are drawn up.”
Confirmation of the two-car rule in the WEC for next year is expected on Friday, at the annual press conference organized by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, organizer of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and co-organiser of the WEC.
Jota team principal Sam Hignett said: “For now the focus is on our 2024 season,” when asked about the prospect of moving from a two-car customer programme, the Porsche 963 LMDh, to an official agreement with Cadillac”.
WTR boss Wayne Taylor, whose team tied itself to Andretti for last season, insisted that a deal has not yet been finalized to switch his business to Cadillac after four years with the Honda Acura brand.
“I can only say that we have not signed anything and the reason is simple: we are still under contract with Honda Performance Development, which manages the Acura ARX-06 LMDh program. There are no signed contracts, but we hope that after Le Mans we can reunite all together and define things for next year.”
