Ferrari and Corvette concluded Free Practice 1 of the 6h of Imola, the second seasonal round of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship, in the lead.
At times a chilly day on the banks of the Santerno, with a sun capable of warming when it manages to make its way through the clouds, which in any case today are not expected to release water as happened on Friday afternoon.
The public begins to arrive both in the paddock and along the curves, especially in the Acque Minerali park, but also in the central stands and at Tosa, with the 90' session having been interrupted briefly for a red flag, displayed to remove debris, while as usual, most of the protagonists tried to put together as many consecutive laps as possible.
The best time is 1'31″347 set by Yifei Ye in the #83 AF Corse Ferrari 499P, 0″156 faster than that achieved by Antonio Fuoco in the #50 official Ferrari.
The Peugeot #93 in the updated 2024 version placed third with 0.6 seconds behind, closely followed by the Lamborghini SC63 and the Ferrari #51 to complete the Top5.
Following we have three Porsches, with the #99 of Proton Competition keeping the two official Team Penske cars behind, while above the second gap from the top remain the two Toyotas, which close the top 10.
The BMWs did not go beyond 12th and 18th place, separated from Isotta Fraschini, the Alpine pair and the Cadillac, finally problems for Jota's Porsche #38 which put together just 4 laps.

In the LMGT3 Class, a Corvette-TF Sport double led by the #82 with a time of 1'42″113 set by Daniel Juncadella, who beat his teammate Charlie Eastwood by over half a second.
Third and with 0″8 on the back was the Ferrari 296 of Vista AF Corse, followed by the BMW #46 of Team WRT and the other 296 entered by the Piacenza team.
Sixth fastest time with a 1″ margin from the best for the BMW #31 of WRT, the Porsche is seventh with the #91 of Manthey EMA, the Top10 is completed by the Aston Martin #27 of Heart of Racing, the Lexus #87 of Akkodis -ASP and the McLaren #95 of United Autosports, while the Lamborghinis and Mustangs are further behind.
Free Practice 2 is scheduled for 5.15pm.
