The 2024 season of the FIA World Endurance Championship arrives at the University of Motoring: Spa-Francorchamps is hosting what is the third event of a year which is currently providing great emotions after what was experienced in Qatar and Imola.
In the Ardennes there are many unknowns that can make this Belgian stage of a calendar exciting, which for the next outing includes the legendary 24h of Le Mans. A 1-2 of spectacular slopes that opens up along the 7km of the route which will be useful for many to fine-tune the final things in view of the French event.
In the Hypercar Class, Porsche will have to defend its lead in the standings from the attacks of a Ferrari eager for redemption after the mistakes made at Imola which deprived it of a success that was certainly within reach, and from a revived Toyota which was able to make the most of the stumbles opponents to find success.
Results are also expected from the other brands, with BMW which has shown positive aspects on the Santerno, Cadillac which is competitive if it does not make mistakes, while for Alpine, Lamborghini and Isotta Fraschini the objective is to make further steps forward in terms of performance, having shown excellent reliability.
In the LMGT3 Class, BMW-WRT’s Imola double win relaunched the ambitions of the German brand and above all of Valentino Rossi, who was on the podium in the category for the first time.
But Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini and all the others will not stand by and watch, in a circuit where the qualities of the best will be highlighted and put to the test, so the spotlight will also be on the Bronze and Silver drivers, who will certainly be those with the greatest pressure in trying to make a difference.
