With the historic victory at the 24h of Le Mans, Ferrari has completely reopened the game regarding the 2024 rankings of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
A success on the Circuit de la Sarthe is worth double the points of a common 6h round for the maximum endurance series, therefore it was essential to obtain the record for the Maranello company, in the chase for the championship that it had up to now suffered sudden setbacks.
Apart from the first outing in Qatar where the 499P had done everything possible to score points, the races at Imola and Spa-Francorchamps did not bring the Prancing Horse what it hoped for or deserved; in the first case due to errors made with the strategies in the race, in the second due to the bad epilogue due to a race restarted when it seemed closed with the Reds in the lead.
The fact is that the triumph of Antonio Fuoco/Miguel Molina/Nicklas Nielsen at the wheel of the 499P #50 was worth 50 points, which brings them -9 from the lead still occupied by Lotterer/Estre/Vanthoor, who with the Porsche #6 they placed fourth in France after starting from Pole Position.

8 points behind the Ferrari drivers are Kobayashi/De Vries, left alone as their colleague in the #7 Toyota, Mike Conway, did not take part in last Sunday’s 24h due to injury.
Fourth instead we find Ilott/Stevens with 60 points, who on Jota’s Porsche #12 are first in the privateers’ classification, while to find the Ferrari crew #51 made up of Pier Guidi/Calado/Giovinazzi you have to go down to eighth position, having a total of 48 points (-51 from the top).
But with the 25 points still up for grabs for the winner of the races in Sao Paulo, Austin and Fuji (all 6h), plus the 38 that the first in Bahrain (8h race) will win and the additional point that goes to whoever signs the Hyperpole in every race, everything is wide open and reversals cannot be ruled out.
In the Hypercar Manufacturers ranking, where the score obtained by the best car of the brand entered with an official team is taken into consideration, Porsche is still in the lead with 108 points, followed at -9 by Ferrari and -12 by Toyota.

Alpine is fourth at 23 and now hot on the heels of BMW (21) and Peugeot (14) after withdrawing from Le Mans. Cadillac is seventh at 14, behind it we find Lamborghini at 11 and Isotta Fraschini still without points, despite having come close to scoring her first on the Sarthe.
Finally in the list of private Hypercar teams, the Jota #12 remains first at 128 points, ahead of the Proton Competition, which rose to second at 71 following the withdrawal of the AF Corse Ferrari #83, which remained at 67.
Jota #38 completes the list with 54 points.
