Just over two months off. A very long break that finally ends this weekend (28, 29 and 30 October) with the 6 Hours of Bahrain.
The FIA WEC Endurance World Championship reaches the penultimate of the six rounds of the calendar and for the Cetilar Racing team the final double sprint of this 2021 comes to life, since just a week later the same track in Sakhir will also host the final appointment, which in the circumstance it will take place over the duration of eight hours.
Alternating at the wheel of the Ferrari 488 GTE number 47 lined up by the “all made in Italy” team, there will, as always, be Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Antonio Fuoco, who together started by hitting third place in the GTE Am in Spa and obtaining an extraordinary class victory in the next stage of Portimão, last June.
Then an unfortunate 6 Hours of Monza, which had started with the second best time in qualifying (best overall result obtained in qualifying by Lacorte) to finish with the eleventh place in the category. Then the setback of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
A retirement arrived after almost seven hours, which was also the first for Cetilar Racing in the classic of La Sarthe, which this year it faced for the fifth time in a row.
At Cetilar Racing there is therefore a desire for redemption.

In the first year with the Ferrari 488 GTE, also managed by AF Corse, the team led by Lacorte has shown in any case that they have done an excellent job so far and the results have arrived.
In the GTE Am classification, Lacorte, Fuoco and Sernagiotto currently occupy the third place with a total of 54 points, after having been leaders of the category until the eve of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
With 11.5 lengths more are Felipe Fraga, Ben Keating and Dylan Pereira (Aston Martin). François Perrodo, Nicklas Nielsen and Alessio Rovera drive with the other Ferrari directly deployed by AF Corse, with a tally of 102 points to their credit.
“The goal is to achieve the maximum result. We still have a chance to win the championship. We can do it and for this we must remain absolutely concentrated – Lacorte commented – After all, we have shown that we have excellent potential “.
“Beloved Ferrari, before this adventure in the WEC with the 488 GTE, he said that we could have done very well. We have kept a low profile, but it is true that we are competing in this championship as protagonists”.
