The 1000 Miglia di Sebring, the opening round of the FIA WEC World Championship, goes on file with a fourth and fifth place for the Ferrari 488 GTE competing in the LMGTE Pro class, and with the fifth place for the Iron Dames Ferrari among the Ams. The race had an early end just under an hour from the end due to the strong risk of lightning forced the race direction to display the red flag.

It was not an easy race for reigning champions Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado who left Florida with a fourth place, objectively the best result that the crew of the 488 GTE number 51 could aspire to. level test, struggling lap after lap to minimize the delay from the leaders, who however have always been out of reach of the Italian-British duo. In a race won by the Porsche of the Christensen-Estre duo, a power steering problem affected the performance of Antonio Fuoco and Miguel Molina on number 52, fifth at the finish.

The fifth place with which Rahel Frey, Michelle Gatting and Sarah Bovy finished the 1000 miles of Sebring does not give due credit to the test of the female crew, among the protagonists of all stages of the race. The trio of Iron Dames completed a solid race characterized by good duels and overtaking, such as those achieved by Michelle Gatting, recent champion of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli. Seventh place for the 488 GTE of AF Corse driven by Simon Mann, Christoph Ulrich and Toni Vilander who preceded the car of Claudio Schiavoni, Matteo Cressoni and Giancarlo Fisichella, with the Roman author of some maneuvers which confirmed his crystalline class. Ninth position, however, for the Ferrari of Thomas Flohr, Francesco Castellacci and Nick Cassidy, while eleventh he closed the trio of Spirit of Race.
