Finally the FIA World Endurance Championship and the Automobile Club de l’Ouest have announced the Balance of Performance that will be adopted for the 6h of Spa-Francorchamps which will take place this weekend.
The race will take place in the Ardennes from 9th to 11th May and among the 37 cars registered we obviously start from the 19 in the Hypercar Class, among which the Ferraris have undergone the biggest change.
In general, all brands have been assigned a few more kg of ballast (except Cadillac), but the 499P will have to carry 12 more compared to the last outing in Imola, reaching a total of 1053kg, with maximum power in kW reduced to 506 (-4kW) and 1 MJ more energy per stint to exploit.
As with all Hypercars with a hybrid system, all-wheel drive can be activated starting from 190 km/h.

4kg are given instead to Peugeot, Toyota and Porsche. The 9X8 in the 2024 version, already considerably heavy at its debut in Imola, will run at a minimum weight of 1065kg, with 508kW of power (-2kW) and 910MJ of energy (+4MJ), while the GR010 Hybrid will be 1kg less than the French ones, losing 1kW of power (515kW total) and will add 1MJ of energy (917MJ).
The 963, the championship leader at the moment, weigh 1037kg and will have 507kW of power (-1kW) and 904MJ of energy (+3MJ).
The Isotta Fraschini also remains among the heaviest with its 1060kg (+2kg), maintaining 520kW of power and adding 3MJ of energy (923MJ total), which continues to highlight that the championship leaders consider the Tipo 6-C an LMH decidedly competitive from an aerodynamic point of view.
Moving on to the other LMDhs, Alpine and BMW gain 3kg and lose 1kW of power, with the A424 at 1045kg, 513kW and 913MJ of energy (+4MJ), and the M Hybrid V8 running at 1038kg, 510kW and 907MJ (+2MJ) .
Finally, among the lightest of the lot there are the Lamborghini with 1035kg (+1kg), counting on 514kW of power (-2kW) and still 908MJ of energy as in Imola, and the Cadillac; the V-Series.R continues on the absolute minimum of 1030kg without any ballast assigned, with 516kW of power (-1kW) and 909MJ of energy (+1MJ).

LMGT3
As regards the LMGT3 Class, there are several changes both in the weights and in the powers of the models of the 9 manufacturers involved with their pairs of cars.
The only one not to have any changes on the scale is the Lexus, still with a minimum weight of 1345kg, thus making it the heaviest in the category.
Immediately below the RC F are the Ferrari 296, which with 4kg added reach 1343kg. Following are the Corvettes at 1336kg and the McLarens at 1333kg, both ‘gaining weight’ by 5kg, while the Lamborghinis drop to 1330kg, losing a couple of kg.
A lot of ballast added instead for the other models, such as the Aston Martin, which sees 21kg arriving to reach the total 1327kg, one less than the BMWs which receive 7 to add, with the Porsches which rise by 9kg reaching the 1326kg total.
Finally, a big drop for the Ford Mustangs, so far among those most in difficulty in the group, which lose 11kg and will be able to run on 1318kg, the lightest in the class.
Finally, there are the weights imposed by the Success Ballast, which came into force in Imola, which imposes 15, 10 and 5 kg on those who have reached the podium in the previous two events and occupy the top positions in the championship standings according to the last two races held. .
In addition, the top weight continues to be taken by the Porsche #92 of Manthey Pure Rxcing with 35kg, followed by the BMW #31 of Team WRT with 25kg.
15kg are given instead to the Aston Martin #27 of Heart Of Racing, 10kg to the BMW #46 of Valentino Rossi, on the podium on the Santerno, and 5kg to the Aston #777 of D’Station Racing.
As always, the parameters imposed by the tire suppliers, Michelin and Goodyear, have also been published regarding pressures and camber to be respected along the ups and downs of Spa.
