In Southern Finland it is worth preparing for bad driving weather starting in the evening. In Uusimaa, Varsinais-Suomei, Päijät-Hämee, Kanta-Hämee and Kymenlaakso, there will be snow or freezing drizzle on Saturday evening, during the night and tomorrow, says the meteorologist on duty at the Finnish Meteorological Institute Jani Sorsa.
“Nothing particularly large amounts, we’re talking about less than five cents mostly,” says Sorsa.
The high pressure on the eastern side of Finland will remain in place until next week, so according to Sorsa, the weather will probably be cloudy until the end of the week.
“A weak southerly flow prevails, and when it’s cloudy, it doesn’t mean unusually cold temperature readings either,” says Sorsa.
Temperature will be between zero and -5 degrees during the day and between zero and -10 degrees at night for the next five days.
The cloud cover may be patchy in places, and nighttime temperatures may be cooler than forecast in those areas.
Regarding the wind, a weak to moderate wind is expected between south and east in the southern part of the country and in Lapland from the south.
