Today, July 22, Mexico will face a varied and extreme climate due to various meteorological phenomena, a cold front, two tropical waves and the dog days will impact various states. Severe weather is expected rains throughout the countryThe National Water Commission (CONAGUA) has issued a detailed weather forecast for today.

The tropical wave No. 12 and a low pressure zone with cyclonic potential south of Guerrero and Michoacán, will generate rains strong to very strong in these regions, including the Valley of Mexico. Heavy rains are expected in the states of Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Guerrero and the State of Mexico, which could cause flooding and puddles.

The tropical wave No. 13 iwill enter the Yucatan Peninsula with heavy to very heavy rains in those areas. Chiapas will be especially affected, with rains intense expected. The WITH WATER warns that these phenomena may increase the risk of flooding and landslides in the regions mentioned.

Mexican monsoon and storms in the northwest

The Mexican monsoon will continue to affect the northwest of the country, causing heavy to very heavy rains accompanied by electrical discharges, strong winds and possible hail. This situation will be noticeable in states such as Sonora, Chihuahua and Sinaloa.

Cold front and severe weather in the north

A low pressure channel will prevail over the northeast of the Mexican territory, interacting with a cold front out of season that will extend near the northern border. This combination, together with the humidity coming from the Gulf of Mexico, will cause heavy rains very strong in the north and northeast of the country, with forecast of heavy rains in Coahuila.

Strong winds and possible whirlwinds or tornadoes are also expected in Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas.

Heatwaves and high temperatures

The Canicula will bring extreme temperatures today in several states. High temperatures are expected to reach 40 to 45 °C in Baja California and Sonora, and 35 to 40 °C in Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo.

In other states such as Chihuahua, Durango, San Luis Potosí, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Veracruz and Tabasco, temperatures will range between 30 and 35 °C.
