Civil Protection issues yellow weather alert for six Italian regions
Central Europe still in the grip of Atlantic disturbances. This also affects the climate in our peninsula, bringing instability and numerous precipitations. For tomorrow, Wednesday 25 September, bad weather is renewed in Italy, with the Civil Protection that has issued aWeather Alert yellow in particular in six regions.
The new severe weather warning predicts scattered showers and thunderstorms that will affect much of the peninsula: Emilia-Romagna, Campania, Tuscany, Umbria, Veneto and Lazio. The new disturbance is already close to the north-western regions, where it is accentuating the conditions of atmospheric instability in a context of great variability.
Based on forecasts and current phenomena, the Civil Protection Department has assessed a weather alert of color for tomorrow. yellow for storm risk, hydraulic risk and hydrogeological risk. Emilia and Tuscany are the regions most affected in the last few hours. Since the beginning of the emergency, the Fire Brigade has carried out 1,600 assistance interventions in the affected areas, including emptying water and mud and reconnaissance in various parts of the territory. Approximately 830 units are in action, including regional mobile columns, national and Emilia-Romagna volunteers. Over 10 emergency construction sites have been started for a total of 23 million euros. Irene PrioloPresident and Commissioner for the emergency, declared:
“All routes have already been closed and the first interventions have been concluded, it is necessary to provide rapid responses to the affected citizens”.
Tomorrow will be characterized by strong variability in all regions. An alternation between cloudiness and temporary clearings is expected, which will be more extensive in the far South and in Sicily. The weather will be particularly unstable, with scattered showers and thunderstorms especially in the central Tyrrhenian regions, in Campania, in Umbria and in the Marche. The precipitation will tend to end in the evening, bringing a partial respite from the bad weather. Maximum temperatures will undergo a slight drop in the North and in Tuscany, while remaining stable elsewhere. In the South and on the Major Islands, temperatures will continue to exceed the seasonal average, with peaks of 30 degrees.
With these forecasts, it is recommended to pay maximum attention, especially in areas subject to hydrogeological risk. It is advisable to limit travel in the most affected areas and monitor the updates provided by the Civil Protection. Autumn is knocking on the doors of Italians and it does so vehemently, leaving citizens at the mercy of strong winds and constant rains.
