President attended this Saturday (2.Jul.2022) at the evangelical event “Louvorzão 93”, alongside Pastor Silas Malafaia
The president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) attended this Saturday (July 2, 2022) the evangelical event “Louvorzão 93”, organized by Rádio 93 FM, in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The event was sponsored by the City of Rio de Janeiro.
During the event, Bolsonaro made a brief speech about his differences and those of the “other side”in reference to the left and the PT’s pre-candidate, the former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Alongside Pastor Silas Malafaia, the president said again that Brazil faces a struggle “Good versus Evil”. Bolsonaro said that the left wants to legalize abortion, drugs and gender ideology – agendas often criticized by evangelicals.
“The other side attacks the family, we defend the Brazilian family”declared the Chief Executive.
The 1st advertising piece that the PL, Bolsonaro’s party, begins to air from this Thursday shows the chief executive talking to young people exactly about family. In the video, the president emphasizes the family role in individual creation.
Lula criticized the play and said he does not admit that someone who put his son to run in the election against his mother talks about family.
“What family is he talking about? What is his family experience? Ours is not. I do not admit that a citizen who puts a son to contest the election against his mother comes to talk to me about family in this country. I can’t admit it”said.
In the year 2000, Bolsonaro emancipated his son, Carlos Bolsonaro, then 17 years old, so that he could run in the elections for the Rio de Janeiro City Council against his own mother, Rogéria Bolsonaro. At the time, she was already a councilor and was seeking re-election.
The president has focused on building evangelicals as a key constituency. Three months before the elections, Bolsonaro reinforced his presence at the marches for Jesus and other religious events.
The chief executive leads in voting intentions among evangelicals. Search PowerDate held from the 22nd to the 24th of May shows that the current president has 46% of voting intentions among evangelical voters for the 1st round of the 2022 elections. In this segment, Lula scores 33%.
