Ukraine: Moscow, prison and harsher penalties for deserters
Russian deserters face up to ten years in prison, those who refuse to fight or obey the orders of their superiors. It was decided on Russian President Vladimir Putin who signed the provision approved this week by the Chambers. Until now, the deserters faced a sentence of up to five years in prison.
Russia, still protests against the mobilization, 100 arrests
According to the BBC, nearly 100 people were arrested in Russia after new protests against partial mobilization announced Wednesday by Vladimir Putin: they ended up in handcuffs after participating in demonstrations against the Russian president’s plan to recall 300,000 citizens to arms. Most of the arrests, at least 59, took place in Novosibirsk in Siberia.
