Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Office for Development Affairs and Families of Martyrs, and President of the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, the “Wad” global initiative for early childhood development, launched by the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, organized a high-level discussion session on the impact of change. The Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority represented the UAE in this global event, headed by Her Excellency Reem Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Head of the “Wad” Initiative, and with the participation of Mohammed Hamad Al Mazrouei, Head of the Knowledge Solutions Department at the Authority. They participated in a session included in the event entitled “Protecting the Environment and Addressing… Climate Change for Tomorrow’s Generation,” within a full week of events, meetings, and discussions.
A number of prominent leaders also participated in the session, including Anna Almanzar, Deputy Mayor of New York City, Anil Soni, CEO of the World Health Foundation, and Ms. Janti Soripto, CEO of Save the Children in the United States, where the session began with an opening speech delivered by her. Her Excellency Reem Al Hashemi, during which she stressed the goals of the “Wad” initiative and the urgent need to address the effects of climate change on children’s development. The keynote speakers shared valuable insights into the global health challenges posed by climate-related changes and discussed solutions that support early childhood development.
