Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic asked Russian leader Vladimir Putin to sell gas to his country at the lowest price in Europe. He stated this at a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, quoted by TASS…
“I asked Vladimir Putin, and I’m not ashamed to admit it, about the lowest gas price for Serbia in Europe,” the head of state said.
Vucic noted that the construction of the Balkan Stream gas pipeline was a salvation in the conditions of the energy crisis, the reasons for which the president called long-term gas contracts with Russia that were not concluded on time.
Earlier in October, it became known that Belgrade wanted to conclude a new long-term gas contract with Moscow. “At this very difficult time, when the price of gas has soared 10-20 times, Russia is again with us,” said Nenad Popovic, head of the Russian-Serbian intergovernmental committee on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation.
