Vox Azuza the fear of migrant with brochures that criminalize them together with refugee aid centers in Madrid

“Extreme caution in this area! Popular Party and Socialist Party are distributing illegal here, ”says the alarming slogan that Vox has printed in one of the red octavillas with which he is about to fly over part of the Spanish map. He already did it in areas such as León or Granada and, since Saturday, the brochures have also arrived in the Community of Madrid. So far, the party confirms that these posters have spread in municipalities such as Parla, Alcalá de Henares, Getafe, Torrelodones or Pozuelo, but want to go more.

This Thursday morning, a neighbor was picked up near the last of these locations. They appeared placed on the windshields of some vehicles parked on a large road. Specifically on Los Angeles Avenue, which borders the Refugee Care Center (CAR) and where some users usually go for a walk. Mainly Ukrainian or Africans reside from different countries, which have an established exits and are protected by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations.

But at noon everything seemed very quiet and just two members of the center, one from Mali and one from Ivory coast, they walked back to their rooms more than a few meters from the building. “It does not sound us, no,” they say to Somos Madrid when the octavilla is shown and their meaning is translated.

However, from the neighborhood association of Camp – Barrio that limits with the area in which they are – they have made the voice run after knowing that in this and other municipalities in the region they are being indicated by Vox not only as spotlights of Insecurity, but it is attributed to irregular migrants, to those who catalog in their octavilla as “illegal.” Sources of the ministerial body confirm that the Oberaxe (Spanish Observatory of Racism and Xenophobia) He has sent it to the Prosecutor’s Office so that it acts ex officio if it detects a possible crime of hate.

This summer, the same party broke all its government pacts with the PP in the communities that led together from 28-M. They did, precisely, for the cast of 347 unaccompanied foreign minors who were then staying in the Canary Islands and Ceuta. The signaling to the problems of coexistence or security that Vox attributes to immigration has been one of its most recurrent electoral letters.

In 2021 another larger poster was very controversial that the party placed at the Madrid Metro stations comparing the pensions of retirees with the aid that young foreigners can receive in an irregular situation. In this way, those of Abascal asked for the vote.

At that time, the Madrid Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation to determine if the electoral poster constituted a crime of hate. No minor migrant protected in the region received direct aid of 4,700 euros, which was what Vox implied in that campaign. On this occasion, the Octavillas have already opened an investigation from the Prosecutor’s Office after spreading in Granada, and sources of the Madrid PSOE already weigh the same in the community.

However, inside that refugee center in Pozuelo there are workers who exasperate or crouch their heads in resignation when they hear what happens. “How ugly, right?” Question one of the people who control entries and exits at the reception. He says he is not surprised by this kind of speeches, although he emphasizes the tranquility of the area. That CAR is managed by ACCEM, one of the main NGOs in which the State Sub -Delete some stages of immigration management or attention to refugees.

In the same building they live with workers from the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations. Two of them, called Enrique and Joaquín, deny having still seen these brochures and denote more statements at the moment. Taking a long walk along the avenue in Colonia de los Ángeles it is difficult to find a neighbor or passer -by who has seen the octavillas, and not even the postal portfolio that usually distributes in the area affirms them having found them. However, it seems that a few eyes have been enough to run the alarm.
