Wajeb Volunteer Society promoted the concept of positive citizenship in emergency crises, in its second Ramadan council, which was held yesterday evening, entitled: “Positive citizenship in the UAE” and under the slogan “Positive is the way to confront crises.”
His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Secretary-General of the Arab Fund for Disaster and Crisis Management and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Wajib Voluntary Association, stressed the importance of the individual’s commitment to love the land and its people and cherish national loyalty, a situation in which the human being is an element active in the state and society.
He added: Positive citizenship is a noble emotion and good morals that the individual feels towards his society, and actively participates in the progress of his country through sacrifices and useful and productive actions that bring him good and prosperity, pointing out that the reputation and image of the UAE and the Emirati must remain as bright as it was built and wanted by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul.
The council hosted Moez Benimam, the ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia, Dr. Ghassan Abbas, the ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic, Dr. Muzaffar Al-Jubouri, the Iraqi ambassador to the state, Dr. Omar Habtoor Al-Dari, Saif Al-Nasiri, and a number of officials, citizens and those interested in volunteer, community and humanitarian affairs.
The Ramadan session, in which Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Sayadi spoke and moderated by Dr. Saif Al-Jabri, dealt with four main themes, focusing on the concept of positivity and citizenship and their relationship to national loyalty, unconditional giving to positivity and citizenship, positivity and its role in building the nation and promoting good citizenship, and the manifestations of positive citizenship.
