There CI / CT Factory neocx will provide modular testing tools to respond to the exponential growth of software and data volumes in fully connected cars. It will make it possible to incorporate individual software components into integrated systems, such as driver assistance systems from an early stage of development so that their compatibility and performance can be tested. The advanced solutions from TraceTronic are the basis of this approach. In addition, the partners intend to significantly expand the functional scope of the platform. They are employing new technologies and testing processes from fields that include machine learning, data analytics, and scenario-based testing. Furthermore, the extensive use of cloud technology facilitates the creation and integration of highly modular virtual test environments.
Volkswagen can already count on the Group’s internal synergies for software development for its fully connected cars. CARIAD, the Group’s software company, is developing a standard software platform for all brands. The neocx is a further element in Volkswagen’s transformation into a software-based mobility provider and aims to integrate the digital functionalities developed by CARIAD into Volkswagen cars, to test them in highly automated processes and to accelerate their final distribution to customers. Volkswagen is working closely with Audi and Porsche in these activities. It is expected that the CI / CT Factory will also be used by other brands in the future, so as to harmonize testing and integration within the Volkswagen Group. In addition, standard interfaces will facilitate the inclusion of development partners, suppliers and third-party tools. Work on the CI / CT Factory will begin immediately. neocx will employ agile methods and in the next few years will bring the number of its employees into the hundreds. This young company is therefore looking for experts for its main office in Dresden and its secondary office in Wolfsburg.
