Vodafone and Deloitte present the “Vodafone Center for Health with Deloitte”, a virtual center for digital health
Vodafone today announces a new strategic alliance with Deloitte to accelerate the adoption of digital healthcare solutions through the launch of the “Vodafone Center for Health with Deloitte”. This virtual center will combine Vodafone’s connected healthcare solutions with Deloitte’s strategic consulting and innovation expertise in the healthcare sector to enable many more people to access healthcare when and where they need it.
The strategic alliance will see the two organizations’ digital, technology and healthcare experts working together to simplify access to digital healthcare and solutions for both patients and healthcare professionals. The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of connectivity to provide essential services such as education and health. Technology can make the delivery of health services more efficient for their providers and more inclusive for patients.
A recent survey by the Vodafone Institute reveals that 92% of European citizens surveyed think that the health sector urgently needs support through the European Recovery and Resilience Plan. The Vodafone Center for Health with Deloitte can accelerate this support through innovation and a higher level of digitalisation of healthcare in hospitals, society and citizens’ homes. Digitization is a key goal for the EU and governments to “rebuild better” in the aftermath of the pandemic.

Both Vodafone and Deloitte are committed to using their networks and capabilities to improve access and quality of care around the world. Starting from Europe, the “Vodafone Center for Health with Deloitte” will extend its activities to other countries. Vodafone already connects more than 20 million devices to the healthcare sector globally thanks to IoT, AI, 5G and Edge Computing. For example, Vodafone and Universitätsklinikum Düsseldorf are building the first 5G-connected campus in Europe to the university hospital.
Deloitte has 24,000 skilled professionals on its global Life Sciences and Healthcare team and a proven track record of providing best-in-class service to healthcare organizations facing the rapid adoption of cutting-edge digital solutions, including delivery of medical products. with drones and the use of IoT technology to monitor patients’ vital signs. Deloitte expects that digital healthcare will allow virtually one third of outpatient visits and half of general practice consultations over the next decade.
