The National Communications Entity (ENaCom) applied three heavy fines against Viviana Canosa for his attitude in his television program in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, which he considered an attack on the public health of society.
The first sanction against Canosa was for take chlorine dioxide live and ensure that it “oxygenates the blood, it comes to me divine. I do not recommend, I show them what I do, “said the host of the program, on August 5, 2020, which at that time was on América TV.
The other two fines were for programs from April 2021, where mentioned suspicions around swabs, as well as from an interview with a doctor in Pharmacy and Biochemistry who denied the effectiveness of vaccines against the coronavirus.
The fine for taking chlorine dioxide was voted unanimously on Wednesday in the ENaCom board of directors, as he was able to verify Clarion.
There were the president of the ENaCom Claudio Ambrosini, the vice president Gustavo López, the directors María Florencia Pacheco and Gonzalo Quilodrán (the latter in virtual form), who they also represent the national government; and the directors Alejandro Gigena (Frente de Todos) and Silvana Giudici (PRO), who were proposed by the first two minorities in Congress.
On the other hand, the other two sanctions against Canosa had only the support of the majority aligned with the national government, while Giudici voted against and argued that sanctioning “the opinion” of Canosa or of an interviewee who leads his program is violate “freedom of expression”, as shown in his minority vote to which he agreed Clarion.
ENaCom board meeting, with the presence of President Claudio Ambrosini, Vice President Gustavo López, Directors María Florencia Pacheco, Gonzalo Quilodrán (virtually), Alejandro Gigena and Silvana Giudici.
The majority opinion approved by the ENaCom board of directors, which is the file No. 30909941, ensures that “the focal position of the driver” deserves the sanction to Canosa, for the mention he made on April 6 of this year to the suspicions that “in certain places the swabs have metals” that generate that the PCR tests test positive.
The host mentioned Doctors for Truth Spain as a source of that information. But it’s about a “coronavirus denier” group, that “has already spread false reports,” said the organization Chequeado in a report on this issue.
In fact, in the program that Canosa made those comments, the pediatrician who was being interviewed, Diego Montes de Oca, refuted the driver’s words and said that the tests “are very reliable” and necessary to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
The third sanction against Canosa It was by an interviewee who took his program Viviana con Vos, on A24, on April 13 of this year, two days after the death of Mauro Viale due to coronavirus.
There he interviewed Marcelo Peretta, doctor in Pharmacy and Biochemistry, who had recommended that Viale not get vaccinated. “A vaccine can harm and kill, due to the adverse effects it causes,” said Peretta during the program, where recommended not to apply “none” of the vaccines that were authorized in Argentina. “I told Mauro not to get vaccinated, as I told my mother,” Peretta insisted.
The Resolution of the majority of the Board of Directors for this sanction took into account the opinion of the National Directorate of Audiovisual Services of ENaCom, which questions Peretta for attacking public health and points out that “the interview is giving way to statements of opinion that the interviewee conceals under argumentative fallacies”, with expressions “of a personal nature on health issues that are not the scope of their competence”.
The ENaCom avoided spreading the fines against Canosa and other journalists, such as Chiche Gelblung. But internal sources of the organism explained to Clarion that the formal sanction is against América TV and is expressed in values of Units of Measure, due to the events produced in the Canosa program, because it is the holder of the audiovisual communication services licenses.
This Thursday the ENaCom sent a press release where reported on a large number of decisions made at the Board meeting the previous day: approved the investment of $ 670 million to expand connectivity, the delivery of 83,131 cell phone cards, the approval of a Regulation to participate in subsidies to programs and the media in order to have “greater diversity of voices and plurality of information.”
It was also reported on the certification of the general norm to apply to the careers that are studied in the ISER, 253 competitions were approved to grant licenses of audiovisual communication services and 16 licenses were awarded to small and medium broadcasters.
