A.The portraits of the women who danced and undressed here in the nineties hang on the exposed concrete wall, classic black and white photos taken by a professional: Ornella and Simone from Bratislava, Xavera, who came to Frankfurt from the Philippines, Deborah, the Italian. When the strippers lolled and stripped in front of the men, Max Coga was still a child.
Today, now 32 years old, he controls the fortunes of the “Queen of Spades”, the oldest nightclub in Frankfurt’s red light district. In 1959 his grandfather opened the shop. After him, Coga’s father and uncle, Oliver and Thorsten Gauß, ran the business. The two continue to work with the company, but from now on it will be Coga who sets the tone in the club on Elbestrasse. “Now it’s my turn,” he says confidently.
