The coronavirus vaccine is a workout for the immune system and does not destroy it. The myth about the dangers of vaccination was dispelled by the head of the laboratory of bionanotechnology, microbiology and virology of the FES NSU, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Biological Sciences, virologist Sergey Netesov in a conversation with URA.RU.
According to the specialist, if the coronavirus enters the body and causes an infection, then the body will produce about 20 different viral proteins. In addition, as a result of reproduction, the coronavirus can destroy cells where there are ACE2 receptors. Vaccines produce only one viral protein, the S protein.

The virologist noted that the S-protein contained in vaccines or produced by them has negative properties, but in return a person receives stable protection against infection. Thus, if a virus enters a protected organism, it multiplies tens of thousands of times less than in an organism without immunization. Netesov explained that during protection, the infection itself is imitated, but with virtually no consequences.
“The vaccine is not to even increase, but to initiate protective immunity against infection,” he concluded.
Earlier it was reported that some people vaccinated against coronavirus may be subject to the nocebo effect, in which a person complains of unwanted reactions that have nothing to do with the vaccine. According to the immunologist, candidate of medical sciences Nikolai Kryuchkov, after the first vaccination, a similar effect occurs in 70 percent of people who complain of adverse reactions, after the second – in 50 percent.
