In Russia, the wave of the incidence of COVID-19 began to recede, the daily increase in the number of cases has been gradually decreasing since the beginning of November. This was announced on Saturday, November 20, by the virologist of the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology Alexander Butenko.
According to the expert, the continuation of such a trend for one to two weeks will make it possible to conclude that the epidemiological situation has improved.
“It is difficult to make predictions, there are many factors that influence the infection. Now the trend (a decrease in the number of daily detected cases of COVID-19 disease, – Ed.) Is good … But it is not yet possible to categorically say how long the surge in the incidence will end, “the expert said in an interview with radio Sputnik…
At the same time, he stressed that the pandemic will not end with the recession of the next wave, so the Russians will need to continue to observe safety measures, and most importantly, to be vaccinated.
It is necessary to take an example from China, where there is an absolutely strict system of compliance with precautions during an epidemic, the virologist believes. He clarified that this approach allowed Beijing to achieve significant success in the fight against the pandemic.
On November 19, the head of the Hungarian government, Viktor Orban, said that anti-vaccines need to make a choice – to be vaccinated against coronavirus or to die. He pointed out that those citizens who have not been vaccinated pose a danger not only to themselves, but also to those around them.
Against the background of the difficult situation with the coronavirus pandemic, experts and doctors note the importance of vaccination in order to protect your health and take care of those around you. Citizens are vaccinated for free. Five vaccines against coronavirus have been registered in the country: Sputnik V, which became the first vaccine against COVID-19 in the Russian Federation and the world, as well as Sputnik Light, EpiVacCorona, EpiVacCorona-N and KoviVak.
