After an abnormally warm February, the capital is waiting for a noticeable drop in temperature. On Tuesday, March 1, the scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand warned about weather changes.
According to the expert, closer to the weekend, the night temperature will be about 8-10 degrees below zero, and the daytime temperature will drop to 3-4 degrees below zero.
“We have lost the habit of this, of course,” Vilfand added in a conversation with TASS.
Saturday (from -4 to +1 degrees during the day, from -3 to -8 degrees at night) and Sunday (from -3 to +2 degrees during the day, from -5 to -10 degrees at night) promise to be the coldest.
Earlier, on February 28, Tatyana Pozdnyakova, chief specialist of the Moscow Meteorological Bureau, reported on the upcoming frosts. She stressed that the melting of snow is not worth waiting for.
On the same day, Vilfand delighted the residents of the regions, saying that unusually warm spring weather is expected in some regions in early March.
