Los Mochis, Sinaloa.- Citizen Watchers for Transparency of Sinaloa collects unpayable bills of users of the japama in Ahome to prepare a document and take it to the Congress of the State of Sinaloa and see how these families who owe large amounts for the vital liquid can be supported.
“We are inviting users to bring us the receipts, especially those who have large debts, because if in January they had a debt of 3,000 pesos, right now they are going to pay almost 5,000 pesos,” said Guillermo Padilla Montiel.
The president of this organization commented that this is because the ASE now required Japama to apply the tax code for surchargesand this is cumulative 3 percent each month.

“This is already becoming unpayable for many users, that is why we are asking them to bring us the receipts because we are making a document to deliver it to the State Congress and make a proposal, it is what we are putting together, by Monday we will have the proposal already ready to make it known.”
He explained that they will ask Congress to reach an agreement on this situation, but the idea is to support these people.
Economic problems
He added that these debts grew because families have economic problems due to the pandemic and because they lost their jobs.
“Other people with the pandemic, the last two years, because it has also affected them, and what they have done is see the priorities first, how many thousands of people were not infected with Covid-19 and that is very expensive.”
He said that they already have 30 receipts for very high amounts.
“We have up to 25 thousand pesos. People who owed 15 thousand pesos and now owe 25 thousand pesos. The receipts we have right now are from people who have gone to want to get a discount from Japama and make a payment agreement to settle, but they found that if they owed 6,000 pesos, now they owe 9,000 pesos.”
