A woman was repeatedly punched in the face by an assailant, knocked down and dragged from an elevator inside a Harlem subway station. The 36-year-old woman was attacked and robbed inside a subway station in New York.
Security camera footage, released by New York police, captured the entire assault that lasted just a few minutes. The man quickly rages, starts yelling at the woman. The woman tries to push the stranger away, but the assailant grabs her jacket and punches her three times in the face.

The aggressor then throws the woman to the ground and drags her out of the elevator by her legs, shown in the video. The woman had a bruised face but refused medical attention, police said. US authorities are looking for the suspect who managed to escape taking US$50 (about R$280) from the victim.
The attack takes place against a backdrop of increasing violence within the city’s public transport. New York Police Department statistics show that just in the first week of November, the number of incidents rose 80% compared to the same period in 2020. From November 1 to 7, 47 cases of robberies, thefts and assaults were registered. In the previous period, there were 26 cases.
