During the afternoon of this Friday, a strong explosion was reported in the Strategic Storage Center (CAE) Tuzandépetla complex owned by Pemex near the Coatzacoalcos 2 Bridge, in the state of Veracruz.
This caused a large column of smoke, perceptible from various points in Nanchital and Coatzacoalcos, alerting the inhabitants of the incident that occurred in Ixhuatlán, around 3:30 p.m., according to local authorities.
The place was transferred Municipal and State Civil Protection Unitsin addition to police elements, to extinguish the flames that would have been generated in an oil line, the causes being unknown for the moment.
Workers and people who were in the vicinity of this industrial area have already been evacuated. So far, no injuries or deaths have been reported as a result of the explosion, reported the Veracruz Civil Protection Secretariat.
Said incident occurred only a few hours after the explosion in a boiler in the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río Refinery in Minatitlánwhich left 5 workers injured, according to authorities, has already been controlled.
