At least 12 states in Venezuela have been affected by heavy rainfall in the country in recent days. The entities of Mérida and Zulia have been the most affected. Ranchers have warned of the losses and Nicolás Maduro ordered the Zulian governor to attend to the situation, otherwise he would impose a protector, that is, a kind of designated authority, with supra-functions.

The most affected states have been Táchira, Mérida, Trujillo, Zulia, Lara, Falcón, Aragua, Carabobo, Portuguesa, Apure, Vargas and the Capital District. In this last, several houses collapsed due to the weak infrastructure in popular areas.
In Catia, a neighborhood of Caracas, the Sagrada Familia school and church were affected, so 900 children will not be able to return to face-to-face classes, one of the parish priests told local media.
These tanks supply both the parish house and the school.
Until now they have received support from neighbors and help with water tanks to carry out the cleaning.
However, they request the collaboration of trucks to dump the debris. pic.twitter.com/BCJ57nopmK

On Tuesday night, Nicolás Maduro reported that the rains were due to the “La Niña” weather phenomenon and announced the activation of a “Special Fund for Attention to Emergencies due to Rains”, with a budget of 10 million bolívares.
So far there are no victims. The Firefighters of the Capital District, in Caracas, have supervised the areas. The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh) announced that the rains will continue for at least 48 hours and called for precautions.
