James Rodríguez continues adding minutes with Sao Paulo, in his reappearance with the club after many rumors of a possible departure. This Sunday, the '10' played against another of Brazil's greats.

James came on in the 76th minute for Ferreira, in the match that Sao Paulo tied 1-1 against Palmeiras at home, on date 11 of the Paulista championship.

It should be remembered that the Colombian was not registered, but the serious injury to Luiz Gustavo, who broke his Achilles tendon, opened a place for him to return to the fields, after three months of absence.

James entered well, motivated to play against one of his club's great rivals and current Brasileirao champion. He even participated in an action that could have meant the second goal for the São Paulo tricolor.

Despite the short time he was on the court, James gave several examples of his technical quality, which excites the Sao Paulo fans.

However, despite all the good that James showed when he came on, Sao Paulo coach Thiago Carpini, although he praised him, asked for patience.

“James wants to play more minutes. What you saw we also saw. We want James more on the court, but we must respect the athlete's process. The training loads, the volumes,” he said.

“There will come a point where he will only improve by playing, but for us to see this point without running the risk of losing an athlete like him, we have to take it a little calmly. In the next rounds, what was planned for him already “It's well defined. It will depend on him whether he can last 60, 70, 80 minutes, and I hope it can happen quickly,” he added.

JAMES RODRIGUEZ! ❤️🤍🖤

James made 16 appearances with Sao Paulo since he arrived in mid-2023, after being released from Olympiacos of Greece.

The two teams are leaders of their respective groups in Paulistao: Palmeiras leads group B, with 25 points, while Sao Paulo is the leader of zone D with 19 points, tied with Novorizontino.

Sao Paulo's next game will be on Sunday, March 10, when it visits Ituano. And two days later the Brazilian championship will begin, in which they will host Fortaleza on the first day.
