According to a report, consumer spending on the gaming market in the current year will be 200 billion dollars. The forecast represents a 5.4% increase year over year, which is a new record.
The analytics service also estimates that the mobile gaming it will grow by 5% to reach 103.5 billion dollars; gaming on console instead it will generate $ 57 billion, an increase of 8% from last year, while gaming on PC it will reach 41 billion, an increase of just 2%.
the forecast doesn’t stop there: NewZoo reports that in the 2024 the global gaming market will grow even more until reaching consumer spending equal to 222 billion dollars.
All of this data takes into account games sold in physical and digital formats, microtransactions and paid DLC in-game, and subscriptions such as Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus. Peripherals, taxes, mobile advertising revenue, second-hand sales and “secondary markets” are excluded.
