López Rabadán made reference to a video spread on social networks, which reported the Falling ceilings in the arrivals area of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA).
But it was not the only one. Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, candidate of the opposition alliance for the Cuauhtémoc Mayor's Office of Mexico City, also alluded to the issue as well as the accident at the Cetram of Santa Martha Acatitla, in Iztapalapa.
“Today, incidents at AIFA and CETRAM Santa Martha Acatitla once again shows the flaws in current projects. And here I wonder, on what foundations are we building the future? Mexico and its people deserve strong infrastructure and leadership,” he noted.
The Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) experienced an unusual incident shortly before 10 in the morning, when some ceiling tiles detached from their base in the corridors of the air terminal.

The event captured on video quickly spread through social networks, showing the moment when several ceiling tiles fell to the ground.
Despite the apparent seriousness of the incident, airport authorities assured that there were no problems in air operations and that no person was injured.
“We regret the incidents in the Passenger Terminal Building, a public area of the international area, where ceilings fell off,” the AIFA reported on its social networks.
“There are no injuries or effects. Air and commercial operations continue as normal.”
Military personnel stationed in the AIFA attributed the incident to possible faults or hidden defects that can arise in any work.
They stated that, in this particular case, it did not pose any risk to users and that immediate measures will be taken to review the facilities and correct any problems with the materials used.
The Airport emphasized that air and commercial operations continued to develop normally.
