The Human Rights Commission of the State of Mexico (Codhem) announced this Wednesday that the first general visitor, Víctor Leopoldo Delgado Pérez, assumed ownership of Codhem until the new president is appointed.
Jorge Olvera García officially left the presidency of the Commission yesterday after his four years in office, despite the fact that he intended to continue as ombudsperson; However, days after the end of his administration, he decided to take a side of the contest.
In this sense, and as established in article 20 of the Law on Human Rights Commissions of the State of Mexico, the first General Visitor, Víctor Leopoldo Delgado Pérez, assumed temporary ownership.
“It has assumed the powers and obligations that correspond to the presidency of this Autonomous Organism, in order to give continuity to the actions of attention, promotion, dissemination and defense of the human rights of Mexicans and people who transit through state territory” , reported Codhem.
Delgado Pérez will lead the LX legislature of the Congress of the State of Mexico to finalize the process and designation of the new president.
