The four-time Formula 1 world champion, Sebastian Vettel, and the son of the seven-time world champion, Mick Schumacher, will represent Germany at the next Race of Champions to be held from 5 to 6 February 2022.
The Aston Martin driver clinched the individual title in 2015 at London’s Olympic Stadium by beating nine-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen in the final. Vettel, paired with Michael Schumacher, has allowed Germany to prevail on six occasions in the Nations Cup.
The duo made up of the former Ferrari driver and Mick Schumacher have already had the opportunity to race together in 2019, when the Race of Champions took place in Mexico.

“I can’t wait to get back to racing in the Race of Champions and represent Germany alongside Mick. In Mexico we finished second in the Nations Cup and our goal is to improve that result ”.
This year’s Race of Champions will be held in a completely different location than in the past. The pilots will not be engaged in circuits built inside stadiums, but on icy tracks of the Baltic Sea.
“The competition will be very tough, especially against Nordic riders who have much more experience than us in driving on snow and ice,” concluded the four-time world champion.
Mick Schumacher then continued: “Representing Germany with Sebastian will be fun, but our goal, of course, is to win the trophy all over again. I can’t wait to meet all the other riders and spend time with them during the Race of Champions weekend ”.
Other prominent names who confirmed their participation include those of Mika Hakkinen, Valtteri Bottas, Sebastien Loeb, Mattias Ekstrom, Petter and Oliver Solberg, Jimmie Johnson and Travis Pastrana.
