Only men at Porta a Porta to talk about abortion, Rai recalls Bruno Vespa
Reminder to Bruno Vespa from the president of Rai, Marinella Soldi, for the presence of only male guests in the episode of 'Porta a Porta' in which abortion was discussed. Sources on Viale Mazzini let it be known that the president of Rai has reminded Vespa of the fundamental role of the public service, in particular on such a sensitive issue and that she directly calls women's bodies into question.
The president of Rai, Marinella Soldi, has been involved for a long time in carrying out the 'No women no panel' project – Without women we can't talk about it, an initiative born within the European Commission and relaunched by Rai with the aim of “enhancing skills, experiences and talents, including female ones, for a more complete implementation of the principles of equal democracy and pluralism, guaranteeing adequate representation of women in conferences, institutional appointments and talk shows”.
Starting precisely from the presence, in numerical terms, of women in public debates. Which it doesn't there was in the episode of 'Porta a Porta' where the topic of abortion was also addressed. The last signature of the 'No women no panel' memorandum of understanding was signed between Rai and Campidoglio on 9 April, but the project has already had the support of 45 local entities: 8 Regions, 21 Local Authorities ( Municipalities, Provinces and Metropolitan Cities) and 16 Universities. As reported by Corriere della Sera, the presenter replied: “In my Tg1 I host women”.
