Max Verstappen is looking forward to the second part of the season. The Red Bull driver will start this weekend at the Belgian Grand Prix with eight points behind world champion Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes and let it be known that he is ready for the title fight.
“It feels good to be back. Three races in three consecutive weekends is a lot, but that goes for everyone and there are some nice tracks to look forward to,” said Verstappen.
The Limburger emphasizes once again that Spa-Francorchamps is his favorite circuit. “It’s really cool to race with so many high-speed corners and elevation gain. I also look forward to seeing all the fans again. It will be nice to see so much orange in the stands, after the spectators were not allowed to come last year. It’s a good place to restart our title fight. I am well prepared.”
Verstappen will drive the fiftieth grand prix in his Red Bull on Sunday with a Honda engine. “We will remember these fifty races with Honda when we look back. Of course, the first win will always remain special,” the driver refers to his victory in the Austrian Grand Prix in 2019. “Hopefully we can finish the season on a high before they leave the sport.” The engine manufacturer will withdraw from Formula 1 at the end of this season.
