Max Verstappen he is preparing in the best possible way for the 2024 season. The Dutchman simply cannot do without racing, and even with the engines off he tries to compete for success. He did it in the 24 Hours of Daytona onlinewhere he drove the #4 Mercedes AMG to the GTD class victory.
Verstappen took the wheel on Saturday evening in a race that had started on Saturday afternoon. Team Redline's two GT3 cars managed to gain the top two positions overnight. After careful team work with the sister car, the #2, Verstappen made contact at the first corner with teammate Josh Thompson, spinning.
Nonetheless, also thanks to an accident of the sister car, Verstappen's team (also made up of Gianni Vecchio and Ole Steinbraiten) managed to win comfortably, giving a lap to the second car in class, the Mercedes #199 Stormforce ART (Luke McKeown , Alex Dunne, Maxence Godinho and Jimmy Antunes). Third place went to the sister car Redline.
The other classes
Overall victory went to Williams Esports on the #6 Acura ARX-06, while WSR Esports won in the LMP2 class. Verstappen will return to action “remotely” on Tuesday 23 January with his Real Racers Never Quit Championship with a race at Silverstone.
