“Everything comes back”
In Miami Max Verstappen he had not complained about the fact that the Safety Car had favored Lando Norris (“if my mother had balls she would be my father” was the colorful comment of the Dutch driver) underlining that in racing sometimes a neutralization rewards you and other times it doesn’t. Yesterday in Canada, for example, the Safety Car was favorable for Verstappen, who regained the lead of the race after having lost it when he was overtaken on the track by Lando Norris when second place behind George Russell was up for grabs.
“We were also quite lucky with the Safety Car, which can sometimes work in favor and sometimes against, but this is the world of racing”said Verstappen who echoed his race engineer Gianpiero Lambiasewho had commented during the race “everything comes back” regarding the Safety Car which was unlucky for Norris and lucky for Verstappen.
The Red Bull driver in Canada took his sixth victory of the season, the 60th of his career, at the end of a race that he defined as gratifying: “It was a difficult weekend, but yesI’m really proud to bring home my 60th victory – added Verstappen – the team made all the decisions at the right time and we remained very clear.”
