On the Catalan circuit of Montmeló, until two days ago the venue of the first pre-season test session, the parenthesis of the official presentations of the single-seaters that will participate in the 2022 world championship, which will start in Bahrain on the weekend of 20 March. The last team missing was theAlfa Romeowhich, after having regularly participated in tests with a camouflage livery, unveiled its colors to the public for the first time ever.
A design much appreciated by the two new official drivers, Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou, but also by the team principal of the Swiss team Frédéric Vasseur: the French engineer, during the presentation press conference, in fact expressed his first sensations on the livery of the C42, underlining at the same time all his pride in the work done to create the car.
A personal satisfaction that the transalpine manager underlined with these words: “The start of the season is always an exciting time – he has declared – in which we see the fruit of the work of hundreds of people over a long period of time. The C42 is a car we can’t wait to see racing, not just because it’s the first we’ve built in this new round of regulations, where racing should be more exciting, but because we have the utmost confidence in this car, and that all this can help the team make a great leap in quality towards the noble area of the grid. The livery – he added – it’s a color combination that keeps the team spirit. A new chapter is about to open, for us and for F1, with new regulations and new tire sizes. The last pre-season test session was a bit complex, but now we are ready to concentrate on the next tests and on the first race of the championship to make up for it ”.
